FinMin Hatzidakis: Announcements on banking fees expected on Sunday; significant reductions in 2025

The Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis, during the first day of the discussion on the state budget for 2025, emphasized that on Sunday announcements will be made regarding the reduction of bank fees.

"From 2025, bank fees will be significantly lower, with the interventions the government is initiating, and interest rates will also follow a downward trend." "This is also the policy of the European Central Bank," said Ηatzidakis and added: "With new interventions, we are creating conditions for a healthier competition in the banking system, aiming for banks to grant more loans to businesses and households and to contribute significantly to addressing the housing crisis." All these are being set in motion now and will take shape by 2025."

Hatzidakis, referring to the new state budget, emphasized that it combines three things: fiscal prudence, development, and social cohesion. He also emphasized that it addresses social and national priorities, such as Defense.

At the same time, Hatzidakis described the positive changes that will accompany the 2025 budget, which are:

"In 2025, the application of MyData for the declaration of income and expenses will be fully implemented." The digital customer registry. The digital delivery note. The extension of the electronic invoice. This is definitely good news for compliant taxpayers, for more tax justice," he added.
