Androulakis calls for return of collective labour agreements in Parliamentary minimum wage debate

PASOK-KINAL leader Nikos Androulakis in his intervention in the Parliament where the bill on the minimum wage is being debated, stressed that the conditions are now ripe for the return of Collective Labour Agreements.

"We firmly believe that the way the minimum wage is determined cannot be done, neither unilaterally by the government as has been the case so far and always just before elections, nor automatically through an algorithm," he stressed.

The leader of the opposition added that "The only way to improve working conditions and ensure labour rights is the adoption of the National Collective Labour Agreement, dialogue between the social partners and collective bargaining to determine the minimum wage are a prerequisite for prosperity, social cohesion and the fight against inequalities."
