Greece-Türkiye Deputy FMs' joint statement: Meeting held in positive atmosphere

Following their meeting in Athens, the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Greece and Türkiye issued a joint statement as part of the ongoing political dialogue between the two countries.
In particular, the joint statement indicated that the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexandra Papadopoulou and her counterpart from Türkiye Mehmet Kemal Bozay, convened the 3rd meeting of the Political Dialogue in Athens on 3 December.
The two counterparts engaged in discussions pertaining to various aspects of bilateral relations, as well as recent developments and prospects, in preparation for the 6th High-Level Cooperation Council, scheduled to take place in Türkiye next year. Additionally, they addressed EU-Türkiye relations and regional issues in light of the latest developments.

"The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Ambassador Alexandra Papadopoulou and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, held the 3rd meeting of the Political Dialogue in Athens, on December 3, 2024.
The two counterparts discussed various aspects of bilateral relations and took stock of recent developments and prospects, in preparation of the 6th High Level Cooperation Council to be held in Türkiye next year.
They also discussed EU-Türkiye relations and regional issues in light of the latest developments.
The meeting was held in a positive atmosphere and the two sides reiterated their joint commitment to further exploring areas of bilateral and international cooperation.”
