Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes to attend 65th Thessaloniki International Film Festival

The 65th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, running from October 31 to November 10, will feature French actress Juliette Binoche and British actor Ralph Fiennes as special guests.

Their participation was announced on Tuesday during a press conference unveiling the festival's program, broadcast live in Thessaloniki and Athens. According to the festival's program director George Krassakopoulos, Binoche and Fiennes will attend a screening of the film The English Patient, where they will be awarded the Golden Alexander. Both starred in the 1996 film, which won Binoche an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress and earned Fiennes a nomination for Best Actor.

The two actors first worked together in 1992 on Wuthering Heights and reunite for the third time this year, portraying Odysseus and Penelope in a Greek co-production filmed last year in Corfu. This adaptation of the final rhapsody of Homer’s Odyssey, titled The Return and directed by Uberto Pasolini, will also be screened at this year’s festival, with Pasolini in attendance.
