Greece to participate in the 76th Frankfurt International Book Fair

Greece has prepared a dynamic and multi-faceted national participation in the 76th Frankfurt International Book Fair, involving 60 publishers, cultural organisations and institutions, five authors, more than 750 publications in Greek and other languages, and an emphasis on networking and translation of Greek literature.
After the country's participation in the LIBER International Book Fair in Barcelona (1-3 October 2024), the 76th Frankfurt International Book Fair in Germany - the most important and largest international book fair in Europe - is next in line. Last year a total of 4,000 exhibitors from 95 countries were represented there. This year, the fair, with Italy as official guest, will run until Sunday 20 October.
The newly established Hellenic Book and Culture Foundation (ELIVIP) established by the Ministry of Culture, is being presented for the first time at the Greek Pavilion (HALL 4.1, no. G27), where the books published in other languages will also be shown, as part of the GreekLit platform, which is funded by the Ministry of Culture, with resources from the Recovery Fund for translations of titles of every category of Greek book production. Some 60 publishers, cultural organisations and institutions are represented in the Greek pavilion, of which 27 will be physically present. In addition, more than 750 publications will be on display, including those of the Ministry of Culture and its supervised bodies, in Greek and in other languages, cultural institutions and publishing houses, both Greek and foreign, that publish translations of Greek books.
