SYRIZA's Kehagia: Another electoral process may be unavoidable; everything will be done according to the party's statute

Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Voula Kehagia, referred to the changes in SYRIZA parliamentary group and the developments in the party in an interview with Open TV on Wednesday, pointing out that the goal is the best possible parliamentary representation to deal with the Mitsotakis government "which destroys the country and our lives".
Kehagia said that "ahead of the new parliamentary term, party leader Stefanos Kasselakis decided that a new team is needed at the presidium of the parliamentary group to run the parliamentary representation of SYRIZA. This is the prerogative of the respective party president. There is nothing personal, she said. There is no competition, there are the choices of the president. The presence of Sokratis Famellos was good, which was recognized by all of us. Famellos was aware of this plan before the start of the meeting."
She also underlined that "we have reached a point that we must be serious because the society asks of us to be serious and reliable" and, as she said "we must all rise to the occasion. Also, we all need to make our intentions clear regarding our party, including its leadership. But this must end, it cannot drag on for long. After all, we have a Central Committee in front of us, there the landscape must be clarified."
On the issue of the party's leadership she said that "Stefanos Kasselakis controls and manages the party, as its president and leader. There are no absolute sovereigns, nor is this his pursuit. His intention is to unite. He himself has said that he would not like to trouble the people of SYRIZA in another election process, but this may not be avoidable. If someone raises a question, everything will be done according to the party's statute."
