Larissa prosecutor files charges against four more people in Tempi train collision case

The prosecutor's office in Larissa, central Greece, filed charges against four persons in relation to the deadly train collision at Tempi in 2023.

Initially, the president of the Regulatory Authority of Railroads was charged for actions and omissions related to the safe circulation of trains on the railroad network.

Also prosecuted were three Fire Department staff members for the misdemeanor of breach of duty, following a suit filed by relatives of the victims.

The four prosecutions raise the number of people charged in the case of the Tempi train accident to 41.

The collision of a passenger with a freight train on the Athens-Thessaloniki line near Tempi on February 28, 2023 caused the death of 57 people, many of them college students, and injured 85, while 1 is missing.
