FM Gerapetritis meets with his counterpart from Vanuatu Matai Seremaiah Nawalu

Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis met in Brussels on Friday with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Vanuatu, Matai Seremaiah Nawalu, on the sidelines of the third EU-IndoPacific Ministerial Forum, the Foreign Ministry posted on X.
Vanuatu, which currently chairs PSIDS (Pacific Small Island Developing States), supports the Greek candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2025-2026.
Their talks focused on climate change, maritime security in the Red Sea, and the International Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
The Greek minister invited his Vanuatu counterpart to Our Ocean Conference Greece 2024 that will be held in Athens.
Earlier, Gerapetritis with the Foreign Minister of the Philippines, Enrique Manalo, on the sidelines of the EU-IndoPacific Ministerial Forum, the foreign ministry posted on its X account.
Their discussion focused on the importance of UNCLOS, on Greece's UN Security Council candidacy for 2025-2026, on climate change and maritime security in the Red Sea.
Additionally, Gerapetritis invited his Filipino counterpart to the Our Ocean Conference Greece 2024.
