Tsipras: Greece must belong to all Greeks, not just the wealthy and powerful

Wage increases, price reductions, settlement of debts, and a just state supporting citizens are the four main points in the SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance plan for governance that its leader Alexis Tsipras presented on Wednesday.

The main opposition leader presented the 'Contract for Change' at the Technological Cultural Park of Lavrio, SE Attica and said it was "a contract with society containing the commitments for a long-term government of progressive cooperation."

The program was first presented by the party on Friday, and includes interventions for the first 50 days of governance to manage the high cost of living.

"The time of great decisions is nearing," Tsipras said, adding that the party is prepared to assume power with a radical and realistic program. "Our program is a contract for the change of people's daily lives. [...] Greece cannot belong just to the wealthy and the powerful. Greece cannot be the property of a few families that share its wealth and assets among them. Greece can only belong to all Greeks," he underlined.

Tsipras called for the Greek people to lead Syriza to an electoral victory leading to a government of progressive collaboration. The party's measures, he said, "are measures that will revive the economy, provide society with a breather, and boost social cohesion."
