Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias said in an interview with MEGA TV on Friday that "tourism brings growth and constitutes Greece's grassroots economy".
He reported that reservations for Easter were nearing 100 pct capacity in popular destinations, while the impressive figures for bookings in the current tourism season prove the important contribution of tourism to the country's economy, along with the support it offers to commerce, farmers and to hundreds of thousands people that work in tourism, as well as the construction sector, given that eight in 10 investments made in Greece are in the tourism sector.
