Alternate Foreign Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Constantinos Kombos, who is accompanying Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides on his visit to Athens.

At the centere of their discussion were the major challenges facing the European Union today and the will of the two countries to deepen their cooperation was confirmed, according to a foreign ministry announcement.

Varvitsiotis reiterated Greece's support for efforts to find a just and viable solution to the Cyprus issue within the framework of the decisions of the United Nations and the EU.
