The aviation directive (notam) imposing special entry conditions for travelers coming to Greece from China has been extended until February 14, 2023, in order to limit the spread of COVID-19.

According to an announcement by the Civil Aviation Service, the notam first introduced on January 15, 2023 has been extended until Tuesday, February 14, 2023 and includes the following requirements from passengers:

A negative test for Covid-19 for the entry into Greece of all passengers on direct flights from China, regardless of nationality.

Specifically, travellers of any nationality coming from China on direct flights will be permitted to enter if they have tested negative with a PCR test in the last forty-eight (48) hours before boarding their flight to Greece, or have a negative rapid test taken within the last twenty-four (24) hours.

All travelers from China are required to wear high-protection face masks (FFP2 or N95 or KN95), both during the flight and during their stay at the airport.

The measures for entry into Greece concerning travelers from China also apply to minors (children) from five (5) years of age and older.

Airline companies are obliged to ensure that travellers have the necessary documents certifying their negative test result before allowing them to board the plane. In the case of a violation, they are obliged to repatriate the passengers involved at their own risk and expense.

The above necessary entry documents (negative test results) are shown by the travellers upon their arrival in Greece and to the Hellenic Police officers, if requested, to be checked for validity and completeness.
