Mitsotakis: The new international airport in Kasteli will be 'a beacon of development'

The new international airport in Kasteli will be completed on schedule and be "an architectural jewel but also a beacon of development," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Wednesday from Crete.
"The progress that has been made is impressive," the prime minister said, adding that "we are talking about the biggest construction site at the moment in our country, we are talking about one of the biggest airports being built in Europe, an airport which will finally be bigger than that initially foreseen. And this is because we have to anticipate and take into account the very positive developments that have taken place since the airport was originally planned."
Mitsotakis also stated that "within the timetables we have set, Crete will have a state-of-the-art airport for the next century. It is unthinkable to talk about the development of the island without a modern airport and without a modern highway."
Kyriakos Mitsotakis' next stop will be the Karteros BeachSports Center, which will host the 3rd Mediterranean Coastal Games.
