The prices of consumer goods, the mega-profits of electricity providers, together with what has happened in the European Parliament over the last 24 hours, dominated the talks that main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras had with SYRIZA party officials in Lamia, during his tour of city.
Tsipras expressed hope that many things are changing in the country, given that the elections are imminent, as he said. "Greece does not export products, it exports corruption," Tsipras added, regarding events in Brussels.
While walking through the main streets of Lamia, the main opposition leader spoke with a number of business owners and visited several shops, while he also spoke with members of the public, particularly about the issue of high prices.
According to Tsipras, the present government had "dragged the country back a very long way" and led to a generalised sense of injustice, of widening inequality, of a "policy that led us to bankruptcy some years ago, a policy that wants the poor to become poorer while the rich and powerful become stronger, a policy that we do not deserve". 
"We do not deserve the widening of inequality," stressed Tsipras and added: "There is an alternative path. Obviously, miracles cannot happen, but justice can return to the country once more."
