Alpha Bank issues new senior preferred bond

Alpha Bank on Thursday mandated Morgan Stanley to launch procedures to issue a new senior preferred bond.

The new bond will have a three-year duration with the option of recalling it after two years, in the frramework of the Minimum Required Eligible Liabilities MREL programme which began in 2020. Alpha Bank has already issued two such bonds in the last three years, significantly improving its presence in international capital markets.

Alpha Bank has issued bond loans worth 2.7 billion euros since 2019, exploiting favorable conditions in capital markets and attracting strong interest by domestic and international institutional investors.

The new bond is the second bond loan to be issued by a Greek bank in 2022, a year of great challenges for debt markets worldwide.
