Civil Defense Deputy Min. responds to Sunday reports claiming double coronavirus registries

Reports by Sunday papers referring to a double registry for coronavirus cases purportedly kept by the National Public Health Organization (EODY) are "entirely unfair and baseless," Civil Protection Deputy Minister for Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias said the same day.
"There are neither double registrations of infection cases nor grievances and problems between us," he said of reports claiming two sides to reporting pandemic statistics, the doctors on the Health Ministry's committee of experts and EODY. "There is only our joint anxiety for the daily defense of public health," Hardalias said, who appears on live briefings on the coronavirus with infectious diseases specialists ofthe committee.
Hardalias praised EODY staff, calling them colleagues and "companions in the war against an invisible but dangerous enemy." The reports "simply attempt to create introversion and doubt, to disorient Greek citizens," he noted.
