Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias on Wednesday had a meeting with U.S. Ambassador in Athens Geoffrey Pyatt, the foreign ministry tweeted. According to the tweet, the meeting was held at the foreign ministry and focused on Greek-US Strategic Dialogue, regional developments and Hagia Sophia.

"Important discussion with Minister @nikosdendias on our shared objectives for regional stability, our shared interests in the western Balkans, and planning for the next US-Greece Strategic Dialogue. Also reiterated our deep disappointment with Turkey's decision on #HagiaSophia," the US ambassador later tweeted about the meeting.
