No injuries were reported from a train derailment near the central railway station of Patras on Friday.
According to sources, the train was carrying out the Kato Achaia-Patras route and derailed while entering the second railtrack, very close to the station.
The passengers got off the train safely and the train was placed back on the tracks by an OSE crew shortly afterward and taken to the depot for inspection.
The same sources ruled out speed as a reason of the derailment, noting that the train was approaching the central station. The technicians are examining the possibility of a problem in the wheels.
