Egypt asks UN to not register memoranda beween Libya and Turkey

In a letter to UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council, Egypt has described the two memoranda signed between the government of Tripoli and Turkey as void and invalid, requesting that they not be registered, according to diplomatic sources.

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in Geneva on Monday and outlined the reasons why Greece considers these memoranda to be void.

Dendias said that Guterres intends to refer the matter to the UN legal services.
