President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos on Thursday contacted MIT Professor Constantinos Daskalakis on the telephone and congratulated him on winning the "2018 ACM Grace Murray Hopper Award". The president noted that Prof. Daskalakis, apart from everything else, is a foremost example for young Greek scientists of distinction and excellence.
The Grace Murray Hopper award is given each year to a scientist aged under 35 years old by the prestigious Association of Computing Machinery (ACM).
