He was born in 1971 in Stavros, Thessaloniki. 
Currently he is Secretary - General of Communication and Media of the Presidency of the Government, and Chairman of the Task Force for the protection, safety and empowerment of journalists and other media professionals. 
He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Thessaly. 
Previously, he has served as: 
New Democracy Member of Parliament in the Second Electoral District of Thessaloniki; 
Secretary of the Chairman of the Hellenic Parliament;  
Mayor of the Municipality of Volvi, Regional Unit of Thessaloniki. 
Vice-president of the Vocational Education and Training Organization. 
Director General of the Hellenic Agricultural Organization (ELGO) - "Dimitra". 
He is married to Antigoni Karatzolitis, a lawyer, and they have two children.
