Justice Minister Stavros Kontonis said on Thursday he feels "fully vindicated" by the Greek government's decision not to participate in an EU conference in Tallinn on crimes committed by communist regimes.
"I feel fully vindicated for the stance held by the Greek government since the beginning," the minister told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, when asked about the participation of only eight EU countries out of the 27 member-states in the conference.
"I regret the political attitude of the opposition parties in Greece which, for partisan reasons, made inappropriate and insulting comments on the Greek government's position. Today, in the face of the flood of developments, they were forced to change their attitude following peculiar, chameleon-like tactics," he added.
